Anohana turns Chichibu, a small castle town in Saitama, into the story’s entire stage — the Old Chichibu Bridge, Banba Street and Chichibu Shrine all appear as real backdrops. Chichibu City officially brackets this series with two sibling works under one “Chichibu anime pilgrimage” banner, so this is a municipality-endorsed route rather than a fan rumour. Per Saitama Prefecture’s published course, most spots sit within walking distance of Seibu-Chichibu Station; if your time is tight, drop the outlying Ryusei Hall first and save the Old Chichibu Bridge over the Arakawa for a sunset shot.
| ✔ | Spot | Area | Scene & guide | Access |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 旧秩父橋 | 1 秩父市 | A stone-built old bridge spanning the Arakawa River, listed on Saitama Prefecture’s official pilgrimage course as an Anohana location and one of the series’ recurring signature backdrops. Walkable from central Chichibu and the spot most worth budgeting time for.
| 定林寺 | 1 秩父市 | Jorin-ji, No. 17 on the Chichibu pilgrimage temple circuit, listed by Saitama Prefecture as an Anohana location (address: 21-3 Sakuragicho, Chichibu). Central and walkable, it pairs naturally with Chichibu Shrine for a half-day temple-plus-pilgrimage loop.
| 秩父神社 | 1 秩父市 | Listed by Saitama Prefecture as an Anohana location, near Chichibu Station and on the same bus course. It is the focal point of the year-end Chichibu Night Festival, so it is an easy add-on for a shrine visit and its carved shrine hall.
| 番場通り | 1 秩父市 | A central Chichibu shopping street listed by Saitama Prefecture as an Anohana location. Lined with Showa-era shopfronts and signage, it makes a pleasant walking stretch to fill the gaps between the main spots on your route.
| 龍勢会館 | 1 秩父市 | Ryusei Hall, listed by Saitama Prefecture as an Anohana location but sitting further out — the prefecture itself notes that driving is more efficient for the outlying stops (address: 32 Yoshida-Hisanaga, Chichibu). If you are short on time, this is the first stop I would cut.

Chichibu City’s own tourism portal confirms that pilgrimage maps are handed out at the tourist information centre in front of Seibu-Chichibu Station, at Michi-no-Eki Chichibu and at the Chichibu Local Products Center — which pins Seibu-Chichibu Station as the arrival hub. From Tokyo you can ride the Seibu Railway limited express straight through from Ikebukuro (check the current Seibu Railway timetable for exact minutes; we do not guess the figure here). The central cluster — Old Chichibu Bridge, Jorin-ji, Chichibu Shrine and Banba Street — is walkable; for outlying stops like Ryusei Hall, Saitama Prefecture’s course suggests the Seibu one-day bus pass (about ¥1,000) or a car.
A pilgrimage run means walking with one hand holding your phone up against an anime screenshot the whole day — that eats data fast. Grab a KKday Japan eSIM before you land so you are not hunting for Wi-Fi at every filming spot.

The closest "Little Edo" to Tokyo — about 30 minutes from Ikebukuro. Kurazukuri street, the Bell of Time, Candy Alley, Hikawa Shrine wind chimes, and the Kitain arhats.
